Track training – Saturday mornings
Kelly Cycle Coaching has started track training at DISC every Saturday morning.
Time: 6.15am for a 6.30am start. Session finishes at 9.00am.
Please be organised as the warm starts at precisely 6.30am.
Have your tyres pumped up, and put your warm up cog on your bike the day before so you don’t have to fuss around with your bike before the warm up starts.
Warm up Gears
For U15’s use your race gear for the warm up. For U17’s please use a gear that is smaller than your race gear. For senior riders use a 82-88 gear. Refer Gear_Chart if needed.
As soon as you arrive, all athletes will be given a radio (inside a plastic bag) with an earpiece to put in your jersey pocket. This radio is used to hear instructions whilst you train.
Clothing: It is still cold in the mornings especially inside DISC, so please wear leggings for the warm up as well as a long sleeve jersey or arm warmers and vest, etc. Also remember to bring gloves and clear glasses.
Cost: $20 per session for Kelly Cycle Coaching programmed athletes
($25 per session for other athletes who have pre-arranged with Bob and Helen to attend these sessions)
Payment required at the start of the session please.
What to eat:
Please eat breakfast before attending the session. Due to the early start, making toast, crumpets, etc and eating them in the car is an idea. Other food options apart from toast include bananas, muesli bars. Please bring two drink bottles with you with water and sports drink. Drink mainly water during the session but also sports drink after intense efforts.
