Junior State Titles
Kelly Cycle Coaching headed to Wangaratta on the 28-29 July for the Junior State Road and Time Trial Championships.
With forecast rain we were pleasantly greeted with sunshine most of the weekend, although the strong winds were a curse for many riders. Most riders tackled either the TT or the road race due to studying being a priority at this time of the year.
Results from the weekend:
Vic Snibson finished up on the podium in the TT on Saturday with a strong 2nd place.
We also had several athletes with top 10 results which is fantastic at a State level. This included:
- Michael Hale (6th in TT and road race),
- Drew Morey (8th in TT and 10th in road race),
- Liam White (5th TT),
- Vic Snibson (2nd in TT and 4th in road race),
- Maddy Cardillo (4th TT and 7th in road race),
- Angus Lyons (5th TT and 4th road race).
Other athletes who participated and did well in the windy conditions included: Camden Bush, Scott Walkerden, Hayden Eynaud, Ben Andrews, Nick White, Ash Gillespie, Steve Carroll, Liam McAlister, Hamish Haynes and Jayden Cooper (who skilfully rode over a guys wheel to avoid a crash and finished the road race in 12th place).
Now it’s the masters turn with the State road and TT champs this weekend in Lang Lang.
