Eildon Junior Tour

There were some great performances last weekend at Eildon during the Eildon Junior tour.  Our best results came from our Ballarat crew with both Vic Snibson and Liam White finishing on the podium in individual stages and in their overall tour result.

Vic Snibson got a stage win in the time trial and finished 2nd overall in U17A women.

Liam White  (U19) finished 3rd overall and placed 3rd in Stage 2’s road race and 2nd in Stage 3’s road race, that finished on top of the dam wall.

There were other great results in individual stages throughout the weekend.

The boys U17A and U17B fields are both very strong and these were exciting to watch.  Drew Morey did a brave attack early in the U17A stage 2 (75km) road race.  With two other break away riders, they worked together for 60km’s only to be swept up the back within the final 10km.   Angus, Mark and Sean were all in the bunch sprint with Sean finishing in 8th place.

In boys U17B’s tour, Jayden, Steven, Liam McAlister and Ash all rode well and are improving in each tour they participate in.

Ben Andrews and Nick White worked well together on the skyline stage (day 2).  They attacked each other up the final ascent and it Nick who edged out Ben in a closely fought sprint on top of the dam wall.   Pat Cosgrave was very consistent over the weekend, and improved one place in each event, finishing 7th, 6th, and 5th, respectively, in each stage.

It was Emily Dunk’s first tour of the season and she did well to compete in both the time trial and the road race as she regains her confidence and enjoyment of racing.

Pierce Connor withdrew after the time trial suffering breathing difficulties.  He is recovering well at home and will be back on the bike soon.
