The Metro and Country Championships were held 28 and 29 May, 2001 on a new course this year in Harcourt.   With a 12km loop and a 56km loop, some categories completed both loops whilst others did multi laps of one or the other.  There were a few significant climbs that tested the legs and allowed the climbers to put the hurt on the sprinters. 

Overall we saw some great racing.  Some categories had breaks that stayed away, whilst in other categories, the break away was caught, and we wittnessed an exciting bunch finish.
