Junior Road State Titles – Results

Congratulations to everyone who competed in the Junior Road State Championships on the weekend.  We had some very good results including several podium finishes.

Time Trial Results

Emma Bilston is now the U15 State Time Trial Champion.  Emily Dunk earned herself a silver medal in the U13 division, whilst Monica Kelly won a bronze in the U19 age category (but second placed Victorian). 

 

Drew finished 12th, only 35sec off finishing 6th.  Dylan Bilston also had a solid time trial and rode well.

In the U17 girls division, Emily Wordie Thompson finished 5th, 1min7sec behind the winner, whilst Grace Fryer completed the time trial in 11th place.

There were five U17 boys inside the top 15.  Liam White rode strongly to finish 6th, 1min32sec behind the winner.  Clement Boydell finished right behind Whitey in 7th position, Bryce Morey was 9th, Munro Boydell 11th, whilst Michael Hale finished15th.  Hayden Eynaud also rode well to finish in 23rd place. 
First year U17 athletes, Sean McIver (32nd) and Morgan Curtis (37th) raced well against the older boys and will do well as they step up to second year U17’s next year.

U19 rider, Brad Wills finished inside the top 20 – a great result by him.

Road Race Results

Emma Bilston finished 2nd in the U15 road race, whilst Monica Kelly was 2nd in her U19 division.

Aaron Eynaud finished 5th in the U19 division, a great result, given his focus on Year 12 this year.

Drew Morey had a great ride, finishing 8th, just behind the first bunch. Emily Wordie Thompson attacked with about 1km to go, but was caught at the final corner. She finished in the main bunch behind solo winner, Abbisogni.

U17 riders, Liam White, Munro and Clement Boydell, Bryce Morey, Hayden Eynaud and Michael Hale all finished in the main pack behind 3 break away riders.  Morgan Curtis suffered a flat tyre which ended his road race.  Sean McIver raced well and finished the tough course as a first year U17. 
Emily Dunk rode well and finished in the bunch sprint in the U13 division, while Dylan Bilston sprinted to 3rd place in the boys U13 category.
